Our ‘Harsh Reality’ 360-degree video has produced a Graphite Pencil for NZ in the Communication and Interaction category of the D&AD Impact Awards.
The immersive experience and Google Cardboard put viewers on the streets for a long, cold night, with real stories and experiences shared by the Aucklanders who sleep rough.
Created to kick-start Auckland City Mission’s Winter Appeal, the campaign aimed to show how homeless people are real people, just like anyone else.
Auckland City Missioner Chris Farrelly said this new method of storytelling perfectly suits the brief of encouraging Aucklanders to connect with the plight of their less-fortunate neighbours.
TRACK Creative Director Jeff Harris added: “...the project was a perfect case where the story and the objective dictated the technology and the channel, rather than using technology for its own sake.”
